The ZHAW School of Engineering has developed an intuitive search function as part of an EU project. This allows information, for example on cancer research or astrophysics, to be found and evaluated in huge databases. The INODE project is funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 research program.

As part of a DIZH Fellowship and a DFF project, she is investigating how to use machine translation for papers, abstracts or research proposals and what to consider. 

DIZH Fellow Christiane Hohenstein of the ZHAW School of Applied Linguistics is conducting research to make it easier for people who communicate in sign language to study in the digital age. The aim is to develop an app that enables people who communicate in sign language to learn academic vocabulary and expand their academic language.
